I know it's been around a while, but I thought I would try the film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (2011 version), starring loads of big names, John Hurt, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, etc, etc, but talk about SLOW! Never again! 2/10
Thanks for that Yvonne, I'll put that on my to watch list.
Anyone here seen Limitless with Bradley Cooper? Saw it last night, and thought it was a very good film. 8/10
Welcome to Marwen
Visually beautiful with a fantastic story based on true events.
A solid 8.5/10, one of the best films I have seen in while.
Much better than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which was devastatingly disappointing for a huge Tarantino fan like me. 3/10
Joker, starring the phenomenal, vastly underrated Joaquin Phoenix! Totally recommended. 9/10. Anyone else seen it? You can bet your bottom dollar there's gonna be a sequel.
I wasn’t looking forward to this too much but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a musical which helps with the watering down of the crazy life and times of Elton John. Decent performances, better than Bohemian Rhapsody. 7/10
What a great film! A really refreshing idea from the left field. Brilliantly written and clever, with excellent direction from Danny Boyle, as expected. Touching in parts. 8.5/10
Okay, over the last few weeks:
Commuter - Liam Neeson - very confusing - 4/10
Killing them softly - Brad Pitt - good film, but very slow in a lot of parts - 6/10
Pride and Glory - Edward Norton and Colin Farrell - good film - recommended - 8/10
Any good films you can recommend ?
Walks in to my Top 10 films of all time! It is a masterpiece of acting, writing and cinematography!
This film is an important look into the fragility of existence and provokes thought like no other work of art in recent years.
You've summed it up very accurately Andy, I thought it was the best film I've seen in many years. Easily 9/10. You almost felt sorry for the villain really! Anyone else here seen it?
Toy Story 4
An unfortunate opportunity to watch a film with my poorly 10 year old. This continues with the high standards set out in the first three films in the franchise, making this the first Disney/Pixar film to spawn more than 2 sequels.
Great fun, creepy in parts, funny in others! 7.6/10
Everton: Howard's Way
A really moving documentary about a golden age of football and not just for Evertonians like me.
Very moving at times and sad to think how it has been since we were a true force to be reckoned with.
